Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Piazza San Marco in Venice in April 2018.

Time

It was about 18.00. Although I approached this puddle in the square in the morning, I was looking for the right light and the right moment.

Lighting

The sun was already disappearing into the sunset, pink clouds appeared behind the Cathedral of San Marco. There were still many tourists, but they were already beginning to disperse to cafes and restaurants.

Equipment

I used a Fujifilm x-e2 camera and a Samyang 12mm f / 2 lens. Later, slightly pulled up the colors in the mobile version of Lightroom on the iPad

Inspiration

Venice inspired me for this photo. This is one of the best cities in the world for creativity and recreation. I remember the first time I walked out onto Piazza San Marco and it took my breath away. All thoughts disappeared somewhere, I just stood and admired this beauty.

Editing

Fujifilm makes it easy to copy photos to your tablet via Wi-fi. I dropped the photo on the iPad and slightly pulled up the colors and shadows in the mobile version of Lightroom.

In my camera bag

I have a regular backpack, which, apart from a small camera with a lens, removes a tablet, a small tripod, a purse and a bottle of water. And nothing more is needed.

Feedback

When I took this photo, I practically lay on the pavement of St. Mark's Square. Two women approached me and argued: “What am I doing?”. I showed them the photo right on the camera screen and they began to applaud me. And then they asked: "How do I see it?". I just shrugged. Being attentive is the main advice for any photographer. Look around, study this world. Pay attention to the little things. Then you will be the winner.
