Behind The Lens

Location

This Image was taken in Costa Rica

Time

It was nighttime

Lighting

Yes, the lighting is with a flash off Camera behind the Frog to get the texture in the leaf

Equipment

No Tripod, Canon Mark D4 with a 100mm macro lens, off camera flash and manual focusing

Inspiration

I have always loved Treefrogs with those expressive red eyes and very funny character. One time I had one on my head, one inside my lens cover resting on the lens and one on top of my camera

Editing

Very little post-processing. I lightened the leaf a bit more and put a stroke line to the border

In my camera bag

I usually have 2 camera bodies, depending what I am out to photograph, a long lens and a wide angle and 1macro lens

Feedback

To focus manually, to study beforehand all you can find out about your subjects. When are the active, what routes they usually take and any particulars. Take the flash off of the Camera and most importantly have fun
