Coming face to face with this beautiul animal is a feeling of excitement beyond words. As a photographer I had to obey the law of nature and almost try to be one with nature and not to make the deer feel that i am a threat. The november morning light was p

Behind The Lens

Location

I was on a photo mission to capture the wild deer in Richmond Park England. I wanted the photo to have depth strong colour of the surrounds and to some extent to bring out some emotion of the animals behaviour

Time

I new the area of Richmond Park well and mornings are always the best time to take this journey as the deer are just getting up to start moving around the park .7Am

Lighting

Morning shots were the best as the sky was quite clouding creating naturally diffused light allowing for natural clear photos which would show up the deer and forest beautifully

Equipment

The environment didn’t allow for tripod setup as the Male deers were quite alert of my presence and I needed to make sure I could get out the way fast.I kept my distance of a out 3 meters hiding behind some shrubs . I only have a Nikon D3200 with a zoom f2.4apprture Lenze. The aperture was left wide open to create depth of field and shutter speed and 16/22.no flash was used as enough natural light was available

Inspiration

Nature itself inspired me as i have always wanted to get up and close to these beautiful animals who in ones presence has so much calmness and scerenity.

Editing

I only used Lightroom to remove the greens in the photo to emphasise the idea of autumn and to bring out the oranges and yellows.

In my camera bag

I always carry two lenses my Nikon zoom lenses for distance shots and my F1/8 lenses for portraits . I will only bring my tripod if i Plan to photograph architecture or landscapes

Feedback

The best advice to give any person Amateure or professional is to take chances and attempt the unatempted. Don’t be scared to go any lengths required to capture the shot. I am the photographer who always want to tell a story through image and I would advice others to do the same. Also try to not over do post pteocessing as this could be over done and ruin your shot.
