Nothing is more beautiful to me than a unplanned photo seeing a person just naturally being themselves beautiful work

I love this! She caught my eye instantly. Then I saw it's a self portrait, even better.

Location
The photo was taken in my apartment in the living room after I had the spontaneous idea to take a self-portrait.Time
This was taken on July 5th, 2017 at 7:29 PM. It is one of the many photos I took this evening. Since I did not want to use natural light, only artificial light, the time of day was irrelevant.Lighting
I decided to mainly use a ring light in a dark room because I really wanted to show the effect of the ring light in my eyes. So, my eyes became the main focus of the photo.Equipment
This was shot on Canon EOS 6D, with an 24-105mm lens. I have chosen to use the aperture f/4, ISO 100, shutter 1/50 and the focal length at 40mm. In addition, a ring light was used.Inspiration
I wanted a new and simple self-portrait and spontaneously decided to try a few things.Editing
The photo was initially in colour, but I really wanted it in black and white. Mainly the photo was edited in Adobe Lightroom. In my camera bag
I normally have my Canon EOS 6D in my bag with my lenses: Canon Zoom Lens EF 24-105mm 1:4, Walimex Pro 24mm Tilt-Shift 1:3.5 and Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 IIFeedback
Just do what you feel like doing. Try what comes to mind, be it the pose, the lighting or the camera setting. The most important thing about a self-portrait is that you are ultimately satisfied with the result, it should represent the real you. If you are not happy with this then do it differently, experiment around until you are satisfied.
