Behind The Lens
Location
Northern Wisconsin on a small county highway as we were on the way up to our camper just south of Lake Superior.Time
We were on our way up to our camper in the Northwoods and the day started off clear, but by lunchtime the clouds had moved over and a light mist had started. As we drove I watched as it got gloomier and mistier and finally had to snap a photo, the mist gave it a beautiful affect. The best part is, this was taken through the windshield as we were driving!Lighting
The darker it got, the more amazing the road looked, but as we were in motion, I had to adjust the camera to a quicker shutter and let more light in.Equipment
Nikon D3300 and a standard lens... this was taken from the moving car, so no tripods were harmed during this shoot!Inspiration
The weather alwys inspires me the most. I love rainy/snowy days in the Northwoods. There is so much green, it is always so beautiful!Editing
This has very little post processing. I believe I used a tone mapping just to pop the greens vs the greys. In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon (either a D330 or D7200) and a standard lens, a tripod, a 70-330 zoom and now a bigger zoom in case we come across any wildlife. I also like to carry a 3 inch lens ball, and a fisheye lens in case an extra creativity spark hits me!Feedback
Be open minded, take pictures outside of your wheelhouse, use different settings and take at least 3 photos each time as the scene is always evolving. Also, don't be afraid to delete and try again!!
