Behind The Lens

Location

One of my favorite locations for photography happens to be one of the most photographed beaches in America; Point Dume in Malibu, Ca. Remember the last scene of the original Planet of the Apes? In the winter it can't be beat for the lack of crowds.

Time

I walked by a family in a VW bus at the end of the day on the way to my car and I notice their Golden was having a wonderful time all by himself. I asked if they would like to see their dog on Google maps and they said they would so I took some shots.

Lighting

The sun in the background is always a way to add a little drama to the shot.

Equipment

My "entry level" Canon Rebel 3ti does a pretty good job for a rookie like me.

Inspiration

I was born in LA and I so miss when you could bring your dog to the beach and let it run free that when I see someone breaking the leash law I know it's a rare sight.

Editing

I am a huge fan of Blk. & Wht. and sepia and at least look at most images in that way.

In my camera bag

75-200 zoom and a 28-50....or something like that.
