Location
I took the photo at Naas Naas Point south of Kleinzee on the North West coast of South Africa. The wreck is what remains of the 285 ton British motor coaster MV Border, which ran aground on the Diamond Coast on 1 April 1947.Time
We were on the 4x4 shipwreck trail between Koingnaas and Kleinzee. We had witnessed a number of wreck and stopped at the MV Border after midday. I immediately realised that this was a special scene and took numerous photos.Lighting
The midday sun and a polarising filter was perfect for the scene.Equipment
Was shot with Canon EOS 7D, 18-55 zoom & polarising filter.Inspiration
The Shipwreck 4X4 trail was a fantastic day out in a stunning part of South Africa. This was the last wreck we stopped and the scene, colours and light was perfect.Editing
I did not do any major post-processing - just sharpened and adjusted vibrancy and blacks. In my camera bag
Canon EOS 7D, few lenses & Lee filters.Feedback
My advice would be to try many different angles and use a polarising filter.
