Located at the Ocoee White Water Center in the Cherokee National Forest just outside of Ducktown, TN is the upper section of the Ocoee River gorge, just below dam #1. It is available for whitewater rafting on the days that the dam releases water; however, on the days it does not, it makes for a great nature swimming hole. If I were to pan to the right, you would see the swinging bridge proudly displaying the location of the 1996 World's Olympic Waterwater Rafting. Tourist for all over the world come here to experience the thrill of the ride down the rapids but for us locals, we prefer the simplicity of our blue pond swimming hole.

Sparkling detail and good depth of field. A good range of light and dark contrast. Beautifully composed with the bold rocks in a strong place.

I love the colors in this, Terri! Did you use a polarizing filter? Is this hole as deep as it appears?

Congratulations on the award, Terri. This is truly a wonderful shot! The smoothness of the water and sky against the rock is just outstanding!
