Location
I took this shot in Monument Valley. It's a spot in the Navajo backroads tour that they call "Heavens view".Time
It was taken between 9:30 and 10 am, near the end of the tour.Lighting
The natural lighting was still good due to the slight cloud cover which almost looks painted on in may of the photos I took that morning.Equipment
I used a Canon T3i body with a 55-250mm lens.Inspiration
I loved the way the rocks acted as a frame for the valley below s well as the clouds above. Monument Valley is a photographers dream, it has so many beautiful views it's hard to catch them all.Editing
No post processing was done. It's just not something I've gotten into, I try to take the best image I can using my camera and lenses and at times a few filters rather tha a computer. In my camera bag
I keep my Canon T3i as well as my Canon mark iv 5d, with a variety of lenses, filters, and a speedlite flash.Feedback
The trip to Monument Valley and our stay at the View lodge was well worth the trip. The particular trip had us start in Phenoix Az, go to Sedona for 1 day then on to Monument Valley for 2 days, to the Grand Canyon for 2 days and back thru Sedona for another day prior to flying out of Phoenix. It makes me happy to be using a digital SLR rather than having to try and bring enough film to capture it all.
