These are the largest species of hornbill. Despite being the largest hornbill in the world they are extremely shy and therefore difficult to photograph. Got lucky with this one considering that they are considered VU Vulnerable as far as there conservation goes.

Awesome. I never thought of shyness with birds. Brian, we have a great Indian hornbill at our zoo and it is huge. This must be a very very huge bird being the largest in the world. Funny isn't it how the small tiny birds make the most noise? lol but when the big ones have something to say, everyone knows it! Thank you for posting again Brian. Cheryl
