Location
The shot was taken in the northwest are of Sabi Sands, South AfricaTime
The day was bright and beautiful, about 10 AMLighting
The leopard was not directly in the light, she was hidden by surrounding bushes and treesEquipment
I used a Canon 1D II, along with a 400 DO lens with a 1.4 extender (560mm).Inspiration
Metzi, this 6 month old female leopard had been dining on an antelope that her mother had killed earlier. After eating for a bit she sat up to give her face a good cleaning.Editing
Basic post processing with levels, contract and noise The photo has also been slightly cropped. In my camera bag
When on safari now, I canon a Canon 7D II and 5D III along with my 400 DO with 1.4x, 100-400L, 70-200L, 28-70L and 100 macro. I also carry a 580ex for flash at night.Feedback
With wildlife, you never know what you will get. Be patient, have the camera at ready all the time and be prepared to take lots of shots. If you have time, experiment with the settings, especially with difficult lighting.
