Have you ever gotten the feeling that someone or something was watching you very closely, and found out you were right! This beautiful owl is the resident at the Phoenix Wildlife Zoo.Time
The photo was taken around 6 PM. The owl was sitting back in dark shadows but there just enough light to make the owl's photo look awesome.Lighting
Right place and the right time is the key for lighting. Within two minutes of taking the shot I lost the lighting and I didn't have a flash with me.Equipment
I have to give credit to Canon 1DX Mark III capturing the subject in low lighting. 1/640 sec; f/5.6; ISO 800 Lens 150-600mm F5-6.3 MonopodInspiration
I am a photographer that believes in sharing photos so they can be appreciated and enjoyed by those who may never get to see this gorgeous creature. As I get older I can relive those moments over and over again myself.Editing
Very little post processing was needed. I did darken the shadows little so the focus was entirely on the owl.In my camera bag
None except for lens cleaner, monopod, and spare battery. It was a very long day and the 600mm lens was enough weight to carry all day,Feedback
Wildlife photography takes a LOT of patience. You need to know your camera very well so you can take the photo when an opportunity occurs. Plus being at the right place and the right time helps a lot. Let the shutter fly!
