This photo was taken in my back yard down by our pond in Stanwood, Washington. I am a self-taught photographer, so I am still learning with every shot!Time
It was taken January 5th 2021 at 12:25pm I thought I would take the grandkids for a walk down by the pond so that they could explore and get some energy out before nap time. The weather was a very cold, cloudy and rainy that day.Lighting
It was a cloudy and rainy day but there was still enough natural lighting to take the photo's I wanted.Equipment
I was using a Nikon D850 with a 150-600mm Lens f/5.0-6.3. The reason I used the 600mm lens is because the children play naturally instead of me being on top of them with a smaller lens.Inspiration
I just love taking photo's of my grandkids, we are always out on an adventure and my camera is a must to capture the moments we spend together. I also makes books and give the photos to my children so they can hang them in their homes, and the grandkids love looking at them selves and each other.Editing
I cropped it, so that my subject filled the frame. In my camera bag
My Nikon D850 and the lens I always leave on to grab is 28-300mm Nikon lens. I also have in my bag is my old camera Nikon D700 to use with a second lens when needed. Lenses are: Nikon 50mm 1:1.4 G, Nikon 18-70 1:35 4.5 G ED, Nikon 28-300mm 3.5-5.6 G ED VR, Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2, Tamron 150-600 F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2, & a wide angle Postmaster 11-18mm 4.5-5.6 77 that needs to be replaced!Feedback
I am quickly learning to let the children play and not make them pose! The photo's obviously turn out better because they are being them selves and the kids don't have a melt down......
