Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture in my back yard. I set up a black background, three flashes and with a splash of water, voila.Time
The picture was taken in the middle of the afternoon in June beautiful day, a bit chilly with cloudy skies.Lighting
In order to properly freeze the water movement, I used three speed lites. Two in front of each side and one in the back.Equipment
I used my Nikon D800 with 24-70mm f2.8 lens. Three Neewer speed lites and of course a water spray. All of this with a a good helper who climbed a ladder to hold the water spray above the model.Inspiration
I love to freeze motion and play with water. So I wanted a photo that would allow me to test all of this at the same time.Editing
I obviously started with lightroom and then some adjustments with photoshop to make the water as clear as possible. In my camera bag
In my bag, you would always find my favorite lenses, my 24-70, my 50mm and my 85mm and a many accessories to help with my creativity.Feedback
It is very important to perform as many tests as we can and give the proper power to the flashes in order to freeze the movement well. The power of these should be satisfactory low to match a fast pace.
