Location
This photo was taken in Panama, Isla Coiba National Park. On a one day trip we departed from Santa Catalina early in the morning for a great day out in the sea.Time
It about mid day when the photo was taken, it was a hot day and the sun was not giving us any break.Lighting
In this particular photo there were no extra lights used, unfortunately I had a problem with my 5D and had to use my phone to take this photo.Equipment
All I used for the photo was my Samsung Note 8, my camera 5D had an electric problem a couple of days earlier and I had no choice but to use my phone for the rest of my holidays. No flash or tripod was used, I held on to the branch with one hand whilst trying to center the shadow on my wife´s back.Inspiration
I must admit that it was my wife´s idea! When she told me what she´d like to do I set off to look for the right spot and the right shadows. Once we found it it was time to decide how much of the shadows would show in relation to the hole picture, at the end I decided that they should be the only subject in the picture.Editing
The file has been processed to convert it into B/W using Lightroom. A bit of sharpening and also some contrast was added using Photoshop. In my camera bag
I usually carry my 5D MarkII and a Canon zoom lens EF 100-400 1:4,5-5,6 L IS, a Canon zoom EF 16-35 1:2.8 L II USM and a Carl Zeiss 1:1.4 50mm manual lens that is really great.Feedback
Try different angles, different time of the day, etc....In this one in particular I wanted the light to be strong since I was looking for those shadows.
