Behind The Lens
Location
It was in Bholaganj, Sylhet, Bangladesh, a place near Bangladesh-India Border on the North-east side.Time
This was probably taken on the afternoon on our way back from the local tourist spot.Lighting
The lighting was excellent, it was overcast, lots of clouds on the sky, with light drizzle, it was a perfect mood I wanted for this kind of photo.Equipment
I used my Nikon D7100 with the 35mm 1.8G DX. No external lighting used, and the device was handheld.Inspiration
I've always loved monochrome silhouettes. And I've tried taking similar pictures earlier, but wasn't content with the outcome. So I tried again and thankfully this time, the picture came out good. It's just another day for the people in our country who live near the rivers, and depend on boats for the transportation and I wanted to capture a snippet of this mundane event of their daily lives.Editing
It was initially taken in color, I changed it into black and white. I reduced the highlights to make the silhouette. Upped the contrast to create the mood. Not too complex. In my camera bag
Just the very basic. I can't use other equipment that much, so I stick to my camera body and lens.Feedback
Always try different angles even if you think you've got the perfect shot. I took the photo initially from my eye level, but I went on to take another from the water level and this was even better and this has been the final image that I kept. Play with the basic adjustments to see what mood is right for the photo. And then if necessary, go even further to create your magnum opus. Good luck!
