Location
This photo was taken in Taughannock Falls State Park, in New York State. I was on a road trip in New York State and I really wanted to shoot these falls.Time
It was taken at 12:20 pm; I tried to get closer and shoot from the bottom, but this one was my favorite shot.Lighting
It was a bit cloudy; since it was a slow shutter speed, I used graduated ND filters. 6 sec, f25, ISO 100, 40 mmEquipment
This was shot with Nikon D750; I use a 3 Legged Thing tripod; lens 24-300 mm; graduated ND filterInspiration
I tried different exposures, shutter speeds and ND filters. I really loved the view from above and the texture of the rock surrounding the falls.Editing
I used Luminar and Lightroom for post-processing. It was a cloudy day, the picture looked really sad; I added some l light, clarity, removed distracting branches. I find that in landscape photography pictures need to be edited to make them come more alive. In my camera bag
It depends what I'm going to be shooting. I will either bring my Nikon D750 with 24-300 mm lens or my Nikon Z6 with the 24-70 lens. I always carry the 50mm and the fisheye. I also often bring my ND filters and my tripod.Feedback
Don't be afraid to try different exposures, different shutter speed. If you want to get closer to the falls, bring some rain protection and something to clean your lens, otherwise you picture will have water spots. Be patient, be creative and have fun!
