Location
It was taken near Green River Utah, along Interstate 70....Time
I stared shootings arohnd 10:30pm , but the shot used here were taken closer to midnight...Lighting
There’s a rest area above where I shot this image which provides a little bit of light, but the lights from Green River and I-70 help as well here...Equipment
Niikon D810 Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 @24mm Induro Tripod with a Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball head... I used a Lowepro backpack to carry my gear...Inspiration
I love night photography and Shit this same image a year ago... I wanted to re-shoot it using multiple layers for noise reduction...Editing
I stacked the sky images (15 frames plus 6 dark frames) stacked in Starry Landscap Stacker, then blended the foreground and final sky image together in photoshop, and completed final edits...In my camera bag
D810 Wired trigger Samyang 14mm f/2.8 Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 And a Nikon 50mm f/1.8Feedback
Practice and patience are key, especially getting focus correct in dark conditions... It can be a challenge, but the rewards are worth learning Night photography... Also make sure you try it under the darkest skies possible. Light pollution is serious problem these days, and especially for night photography....
