A wild miniature single Iris, this flax or grass like flower is less than half an inch wide as a bloom, and of the Iris family. Although it is native to North America, it is rare-ish in Ontario, choosing to grow one of itself in some pretty spot! (Silver Lake forest shoreline)
When I lived in a country town I used to find these in the meadows. this wildflower is not prolific, but it does show its pretty self in the midst of soft grasses. This one was growing in the shade of a forest.
