Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken 2 years ago in a castle garden on a sunny summer day. The light was shining trough the leafs of the tree and is pure natural light. So there was no flashlights used in this photo.

Time

The time this photo was shot was during the afternoon wen the sun was shining bright. The weather was lovely en it was one of the few mushrooms because the fall wasn't there yet.

Lighting

The lighting was only sunlight coming from the top side and a little bit from the left. Because is shines trough the leafs is was very soft.

Equipment

This photo was taken with my trusty Nikon D750 full frame camera an my Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 lens. I just lay down flat on the grass an took it holding the camera in front of me without a tripod or so.

Inspiration

When i saw the mushroom with the sun light on it was so nice that even my wife who was with me noticed the mushroom. I instantly knew this was an real nice shot.

Editing

i did a little post processing with light-room. With dodge and burn in the light and shadows. But that's all i'm not that of a post processing kind of photographer.

In my camera bag

I always have my Nikon D750 with two lenses the 24-70mm f2.8 and the 70-200mm f2.8. With that comes a sigma 14 mm fish-eye lens and a 50mm f1.4. With that combo i can shoot the most pictures in nature and also portraits and weddings.

Feedback

When you walk trough nature just look up and down. Don't walk to fast if you're looking for a nice picture. If you see an beautiful object to photograph make sure you leave some room fore something else than just your subject. In this picture the tree was also included so it tells you more than that there is just a mushroom. And put you subject not in the center of a picture but a little bit off center it gives the image some more depth.
