Location
This photo was taken on a beach in the Dominican Republic during a family vacation. My sister and I found a small secluded sandbar while swimming in the ocean at a resort. We loved the spot and how the waves crashed against the cliffs and thought that it was the perfect place to take some vacation pictures.Time
This photo was taken on August 3, 2016 around 4:30pm. My sister and I had gone swimming before dinner.Lighting
This photo was lit using natural summer sunlight.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon EOS Rebel T5 and a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens.Inspiration
My sister and I loved how the waves were crashing against the cliffs on the shoreline so we wanted to see if we could get a neat image of them crashing against her. Luckily, we did :)Editing
I did not edit this photo at all.In my camera bag
My bag has grown a lot over the past two years. I usually bring all of my equipment with me just to be safe. I hate being seeing the perfect shot and not having the right tools with me so I try my best to eliminate that problem. Plus, with all of my equipment I get a free workout. I have my Canon EOS Rebel T6, a Canon EF-S 18-55mm, a Canon EF 75-300mm, Canon EF 50mm, a Canon EF-S 10-18mm, a lensball, a couple of SD cards, and a Platinum Series Tripod/Monopod Kit.Feedback
Try to gain inspiration from the area around you, whether it's flowers, waves crashing against a cliff, or a natural frame. Planning your shots is important, but some of the best phots are created in a spur of the moment or by luck. I didn't know this at the time, but if you build a little ramp out of sand behind your model, it will help to force the water into a "blanket/cape" over and around them.
