Congratulations and well done on a great capture. Did you use long exposure for this?

Location
It was taken at a very popular photo location in Park of the Nations, Lisbon, Portugal. The bridge is Vasco da Gama Bridge, that extends for 17km (~10 miles), and gives this great feeling of infinity.Time
In the morning, as I got there hoping for some sunrise photos, like the ones this bridge is more known for. However the weather was too closed.Lighting
Not having a sunrise but a gray cloudy sky, I saw I could do something like this, with a long exposure creating this long drafts on the sky.Equipment
Sony A65, Sigma 10-20 f3.5, a 10 stop filter, tripod, and IR remote shutter release.Inspiration
Mainly the weather and the feeling that getting together this bridge, this weather and a long exposure I would be able to create a simple image, but very drastic, strong and smooth at the same time...Editing
Yes, I did some post processing. The main thing done was to do a gradient filter since I don't use it in the field. That allowed me to keep the center of the image more exposed than the top and bottom parts. Also, I removed some color casting, and a hand rail at the bottom right. In my camera bag
Sony A65 Sigma 10-20 f3.5, a Sony kit lens, and a Sony 35mm are my main go to lenses. Tripod Haida ND 10 stop Shutter releaseFeedback
Photographing a sunrise is always a matter of luck with the weather, but not having what you wished for doesn't mean you should pack and leave. Try to think differently and adapt.
