Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken just outside of Launceston, Cornwall, looking across to Dartmoor.

Time

This was taken mid afternoon.

Lighting

It was a nice clear day with good sunlight illuminating the hills and Valley.

Equipment

Canon D60 with a 35-105mm lens at 35mm.

Inspiration

This is a view from my parents previous house and the lighting was perfect with the sheep giving depth to the image.

Editing

I used Photoshop to edit the photograph, correcting the colours, giving it a bit more contrast, removing the white haze created by digital cameras and enhancing the colours to make the image more vibrant.

In my camera bag

Now I have a Canon Rebel T2i, Sigma 17-35mm, Canon 55-250mm, Sigma 150-600mm, Canon 50mm lenses along with Cokin filters, shutter release remote, Jessops 360AFDC flash unit, Gopro camera with multiple fittings, lots of spare batteries and memory cards, binoculars, a bird book, multi tool, occasionally my laptop and a Monfroto tripod hanging off the back of my Lowepro 450AW.

Feedback

Its all about the lighting and how you compose the image. I have come a long way since I captured this photograph 10 or so years ago, learning something new every time I go out taking photographs along with the courses and degree I have done. I find that you never stop learning in Photography and it's also a lot about experimenting, and see what works for you.
