Location
This shot was taken from a helicopter on the Big Island of Hawaii.Time
This was taken around 2 hours before sunset.Lighting
This was my second day on the helicopter, the first day had alot more color in the sky but with the volcanic haze and rain that day it turned out with two different scenes because of it.Equipment
Canon 5DS R and Canon 16-35 2.8 IIInspiration
There was something about the Kohala Forest reserve that completely fascinated me. When the sun was low it created these luscious greens and shadows that will drop your jaw.Editing
Just my usual process of working the shadows, highlights and color temp in Capture One then focused contrast adjustments in Photoshop using Lumenzia. In my camera bag
Zeiss Distagon 15mm with 165mm plates of 3,6 and 10 stop ND and 3 stop Graduated. I also carry the Canon 70-200 2.8 II with 2x extender and Canon 24-70 2.8 II.Feedback
Try to keep your shot level as you can, keep your shutter at least above 100 and make sure to shoot small bursts because every few shots you'll have a propeller in your shot.
