Just as the sun was setting the moon was rising. This one was taken during the blue hour as the moon was rising fast.Lighting
During blue hour it gave a pink hues in the sky with a subtle glow against the mountains which accentuated the fall colors.Equipment
Canon 5DSR and 70-200mm f/2.8 with an RRS tripod.Inspiration
I wanted to find somewhere that was noticeable to take the super moon shot and nothing more noticeable in North Carolina than Pilot Mountain. You pass it every time right before you leave NC for Virginia.Editing
I used Capture One for the white balance, shadows and highlights then brought into PS to do selective curve adjustments using luminosity masks with Lumenzia. In my camera bag
Canon 5DSR and 5DMIV with Zeiss Distagon 15 2.8, Canon 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8. RRS 34L Tripod with BH55 ballhead. Formatt Hitech 165mm filters from 0.9 to 4.8 ND + GND.Feedback
My main objective was to make sure to get the moon at the highest shutter speed possible at least 1/120 and when shooting the moon also don't forget about the foreground it will set your photo apart from others. Thanks for viewing! -Ryan
