This photo was taken in Richard Bong Recreational State Park In Wisconsin....Time
This was taken just before dusk. He was fluttering around quite bit so we waited until he sat on top of this small branch. Took a few photos to make sure we were able to capture a good shot.Lighting
We Love taking pictures when the sun is low in the sky and sends a soft light across the landscape as it did on this eve.Equipment
I used my Canon 70D and my Canon 100-400 zoom lens no flashInspiration
Not only do I absolutely love God's amazing creations but I love the variety also. So many different kinds of Dragon flies. And it is a challenge to get a good shot also. Love to go home and Look up information on them as to what kind they are and any other information. Its an adventure.Editing
Actually no I don't believe I had too with this photo. In my camera bag
Always carry extra batteries....my shoulder strap for any walking I may do....I also carry a Wide angle lens and a Macro lens for all kinds of different things we may encounter such as a beautiful scene or an odd looking bug. Want to be prepared for anything,Feedback
Patience Patience Patience...... also the right areas....for dragon flies or butterflies prairies are excellent are to find them... For this dragon fly we actually found it near a prairie and a wetland. Always keep your eyes open where ever you go. Just never know what your going to see. It is an adventure and treasure hunt every time we go out. Have fun!!
