I know everyone thinks their own child is beautiful,I did when mine were at that age. I think it's more than just the eyes.....I think he's an old soul as they say. The exspression makes me think "I got this...been here before." I know that may sound weird but he gives a very comforting aura.

Thank you DawnChovy, you have read his eyes so well, my little one was just discharged from a 7 day hospital stay after i took this photo (think it was his second day home). He had been admitted with Ecoli Sepsis from a kidney infection and it was very touch and go. I didnt want to mention this on the 'Behind the Lens' coverage Viewbug kindly gave me but you are right.. those eyes are an 'old soul' id like to think my granny shining through, that saved him at the time, thank you again for your kind words x

This photo was taken in my home when my son was 8 weeks old. He suffered from lots of Colic so it was rare to get a shot where he was not crying!Time
The photo was taken around midday when the light was very soft through our front windows.Lighting
We live in a Georgian building with large windows, the light is lovely to work with and not harsh on little eyes as studio lights can be.Equipment
Canon 5D MK11 with Sigma 50mm 1.4 lens.Inspiration
When this little ones face wasn't scrunched up in upset from the Colic, he had the sweetest gaze. I wanted to keep this shot really simple to show the beauty of his blue eyes.Editing
Little or non, the Sigma lens is so lovely to work with, it gave me the focus on the eyes where i wanted it and a soft blur out everywhere else.In my camera bag
Baby wipes :), my 5D MK11, 24-105mm lens and for close ups my Sigma 1.4 50mmFeedback
Have patience when trying to capture your little ones.. you could take 50 head shots of your child and wonder how you'd choose your favourite one.. its amazing how when you flick through your captures once uploaded to your computer, that perfect expresssion that sums them up will just jump out at you. Ill keep this picture for his 21st Birthday invites, I'm sure he'll thank me for it..
