Congratulations on your award for this image, Mike! I happen to live in Vallejo and my son loves to fish beneath these bridges so it was a treat to see them in such a lovely composition. It's one of my favorite places to shoot! ;-)

why have they built 2 bridges connecting the same two spots??
they could have built one of them at a needful distance

Location
On the Richmond side of the Carquinez Bridge in California.Time
This was taken early in the morning just after sunrise.Lighting
At the time I took the photo, I had no clue about good or bad lighting. I was only focused on getting nice composition.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3500 and a Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens.Inspiration
This was the 62nd photo ever I took out of roughly 600 on that day. It was last summer and my first time going out shooting with a real camera and I went with a few friends to some spots they knew around the bay area. On this particular one I was only focused on getting the two bridges in the shot as centered and level as possible (I didn't have a tripod yet either).Editing
I only used Lightroom for this shot. I made some small adjustments to exposure, temp, as well as vibrance and saturation. I was still learning how to use Lightroom at the time but I think it turned out pretty good!In my camera bag
Camera, extra batteries, tripod, trailmix, water.Feedback
Sunrise and sunset only partly cloudy days are the best times to shoot outdoors. Also bring a tripod, it makes things much easier.
