Location
This image was taken at home on my kitchen table, which is where I currently take most of my indoor images so Kitchen/StudioTime
This was taken in the evening around 22:00Lighting
I used one speedlight in a softbox, I wanted the nice soft light on the coffee beans so it was evenly lit but with a little shadow at the top right side of the cup just to add some depth.Equipment
Canon Eos 60d with 15-85mm which is the lens I mainly use great all rounder, with yongnuo yn568ex ii in softbox didnt have a lightstand at the time so was holding the camera with one hand and softbox in the other trying to be as still as possible.Inspiration
I wanted an image to do with coffee an I was going though loads of images online to get some inspiration, I saw lots of images with coffee bean and the nice hot cup of coffee so I thought it would be interesting to have the coffee in and surrounding the cup a giving the image a very editorial type look very simplistic. and for the coffee drinkers out there I think its makes you need a cuppa :)Editing
Yes I shoot RAW so always do post production, curves, brightness/contrast, colour balance add bit of sharpness that's about nothing too heavyIn my camera bag
Always my Canon 60d my first and only DSLR at the moment 50mm 1.8 15-85mm a wireless remote trigger and flashFeedback
For beginners dont think you need all the latest equipment and light stands to get great images DIY goes a long way to get the same results with just a little bit of work until you can afford to upgrade.
