Beautiful Image! 1/30th second shutter? Either those cars are flying very fast or maybe it was a slower shutter speed. Possible a combination of several images including one at 1/30th. Great shot!

Location
I took this photo in Newbury, UK.Time
Evening, as the sun was setting. It was a very cold day.Lighting
I just used an ND4 to help me keep the exposure in check, as it was a long exposure.Equipment
I used a nikon d5100 with a kit lens 18-55mm and a cheap Hama tripod.Inspiration
I drove past that bridge almost every day, until one day I noticed the sun was aligning with the road..."what a great picture that would be..." I thought to myself. So next day got down there with the camera.Editing
Yes, I chose my favourite overall image, then stacked another 3-4 shots for the light trails and masked it in. Some contrast and colour refinement...a bit of sharpening and "al presto"!In my camera bag
These days I carry a nikon d7100, a couple of high speed sync flashes, a 18-140mm and a 50mm f1.8. Also my rogue flash gel kit at ALL TIMES!! Spare memory cards, lens cloths, spare batteries...you know...what ever you can fit that might come in handy in the field.Feedback
Best thing I can think of...is get out there shooting! If it's not great the 1st time at least you learnt something.
