Captured under a complete dark night when there is no moon or any other lights sourceEquipment
Canon 6D, Samyang 14mm f/2.8 on a tripod. A 30 seconds exposure at ISO 6400Inspiration
I've was travelling along the west coast and southwest trying to find places with the least light pollution in order to capture the beautiful night sky. And Arches National Park is one of the popular NP that are great for taking astrophotography. And I can't wait to go back for more night photography.Editing
This is a single exposure shot with some tweaking in Camera Raw and Photoshop. Adjustments including increase contrast and shadow in Camera Raw, And a lot of different techniques in Photoshop including Blending mode, Curves, Layer Mask, etc.In my camera bag

A large aperture lens (ideally f/2.8 and larger), camera with low noise under high ISO settings. headlamps, a lot of patience. you can also see an article posted on my site at: http://bunleephotography.com/2014/03/15/how-to-shoot-the-night-sky/
