This is the best wildlife photo I've seen in a long time. Truly beautiful.

Location
Was on safari in the Ngorongoro Crater - Aug. 6th, 2014.Time
~ 10:30AMLighting
Slight overcast with the sun occasionally breaking thru. Luckily, shooting away from the sun.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III w/ Canon's EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens propped on a bean bag.Inspiration
Spotting a lioness with two cubs playing on a waterside embankment was enough inspiration!Editing
Use Lightroom with NIK's Viveza 2 plugin. I process most of my raw images with Lightroom sometimes using NIK plug-ins, and save any tough editing for Photoshop. In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark III with Canon EF8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lens, Canon EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens, Canon EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens, Canon EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens, Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM, Canon EF 1.4X III Extended Most important: Several batteries & several 32Gb UDMA 7 CF cardsFeedback
The settings used were: ISO 800, Exposure - 1/320sec @ f8.0, & FL - 320. Alway carry enough equipment for all shooting conditions, be ready for anything, & be patient. We sat and watch the lions for over an hour and took at least 750 raw photos!
