Nice photo, love the subject, color of climber set apart from rock face. I rarely put subject in dead center so I would probably have panned down a bit to move the climber up in the. I don't know if that would be better, probably not but just habit for me.

I also really love the contrast in color and had a similar thought about the crop and composition...it is all subjective though and no right or wrong. Either way it is an interesting shot and you have caught the action and the intensity of such a climb.
