My sedond capture of the moon using the Celestron NexStar Evolution 9.25 235mm f-10 AZ GoTo Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. Captured at the Cosmic Campground International Dark Sky Sanctuary (CCIDSS) in Glenwood, New Mexico, USA.
I was disoriented at the first time I used my telescope. I thought everything will be alright with all the background I already have in photography, but I felt I was stepping at the Lion's Den without knowing what to do. I almost pour a bucket of tears. Alignment is really a great challenge. When I studied my doctor of education I developed a theory of learning it is called EXPOTHEOPRAC which means EXPOsure, THEOry, PRACtise.
I know I don't have the exposure, I just jumped into the river without my swimming gear. I studied the manual and watch a lot of videos on youtube and those are the venues where I took all those theories, then now the practice. OMG, during the coldness of the night in the campground and nobody can help me as if I want to shout. However one day, I practiced again. Then I got it. I was so happy to see my moon photos. Then we came back to Minnesota at the middle of April 2021 until now at the middle of May the clouds are always visiting the night sky. So it hinders my practice. I believe that practice makes perfect but the seeing in Minnesota's sky is terrible.
The challenge I encountered will be my guiding tool to practice more until I can show to the world that I can.
I just hope that everyone will know the importance of dark sky and will appreciate the beauty of the night.

GigiJim, I read your extensive remarks. I appreciate your struggle. One crawls before walking, then eventually running and even flying. This is the normal knowledge curve when acquiring any new skill. You have great passion and sometimes it stalks you like a tiger! Tell your superego to go lie down in the corner and purr. You are a busy learning and you don’t have time to struggle with your ego.
