Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken on a beach in Beverly, Massachusetts. The pilings are still there and a source for a lot of photographers.

Time

This image was taken during sunrise. A friend of mine and I woke up early to drive to this location. We live in Rhode Island and the spot was about an hour and a half away so it was a mini adventure to capture some great images!

Lighting

The image is a composite, so the foreground and pilings was during sunrise but the sky was from a different image at sunset. I felt the sky depicted the scene better so that’s why I altered it.

Equipment

Nikon D750 with the Nikkor 18-105 VR. Shot on a cheap, no name tripod that I had at the time.

Inspiration

My friend scouted the location and we wanted some new images for our portfolios, so we planned and attacked!

Editing

Yes, as stated in the lighting section I switched skies for a better representation of the location. Both foreground and sky are my images though and natural.

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, Nikon 16-35 f/4, vintage Nikon 70-210 f/4, Nikon 50mm 1.8, and DJI mavic pro.
