Location
I shot this photo along the grounds of Oakland Lake in NY.Time
Even though the photo was taken around 2PM in the afternoon in January, the weak sun did very little to keep me warm.Lighting
The sun was weak but it gave a nice reflecting light off the lake on the bird as it was gliding by.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Canon 70D with a 16-300 f3.5-6.3 lense. No other equipment was used. I used Shutter Priority at 1/250 sec. at f/6.3 with iso -100.Inspiration
Since Covid-19 as cramped travel. I decided to go to Oakland Lake which was not to far from my house. As I was walking aroung the lake I took notice of the birds flying around. I should say effortly gliding about, it was beautiful.Editing
Did a little with exposure but concentrated on getting the bokeh just right so the bird in the photo would pop.In my camera bag
I usually have my Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 zoom lense, I also carry a Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 wide angle lense which is great for landscaping and I also carry a Tokina ATX-Pro 100mm f2.8 lense for macro and general work.Feedback
If one is shooting landscape involving wildlife one should have lots of patience. Knowing what time of day the particular subject you want to shoot will be around and the lighting that will be available. This might take several trips to the location and scouting the right time to shoot and of course don't forget plenty of patience.
