Location

I took this photo in the living room of my 485 sq ft apartment.

Time

I tend to feel inspired later in the day. This photo was taken 19:24 in september.

Lighting

As there were no natural light this late, I played with a candle. I know one is not supposed to play with fire, but I mean the light it gives of course. Turned out it actually lit up my face pretty well - not too strange since I held it so close to my face.

Equipment

I used my Olympus om-d em 5 mk. II and one of the 45mm prime lense as well as my tripod. My camera connects to this genious app that makes my phone work as a a remote with live view, at the same time as i can change my setttings from the phone!

Inspiration

I watch a lot of photographers on YouTube, and after watching Sorelle Amore and her awesome selfies (she has this hashtag called #advancedselfies) I simply wanted to take a cool selfie.

Editing

I did go into Lightroom to do some dodging and burning as well as removing some reflections from the lense.

In my camera bag

I always bring my mirrorless Olympus and one chosen lense for the day. My favorite lenses are the 25mm f1.8 and 45mm f1.8. My camera has the micro four third sensor so 25~50 and 45~90.

Feedback

Play around with light and shadows, and get to know how the light affects the face or whatever you are photographing. I think it was nice to get up close and get as little background as possible. By doing this I could solely focus on the light hitting the face.
