This particular photo was taken at an Air BnB in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada. It was a nice place with lots of natural light. Someday, I hope to have my own studio to do more risqué photos.Time
This photo was taken around mid afternoon, just before the sun started to set. It was a great day! The room we were in for the shoot had a lovely medium sized window that allowed for a lovely view and great lighting. Until the sun set anyway.Lighting
I'm still starting out on my photography journey and I didn't have a lighting set up at this point. At this shoot I relied solely on my settings and the natural light coming in through the window. It was warm and made the subject more relaxed given the type of shoot we were having.Equipment
Currently and for this session as well, I used a Canon 50D (oldie but a goodie) and an 18-55 f3.5-5.6 lens. I wish I had a tripod at this point because I noticed when going to edit the photos, most of the faces were slightly blurred over the rest of the image.Inspiration
This particular pose came to me while I was setting the model up for a different pose. She was adjusting her hair when I noticed that she would be perfect for this type of pose. Just the way her body curves, the way she held her hair made for a very "come hither" photo.Editing
Photography journeys are so educational. During this time I didn't have any particular editing software. Not only that no computer with enough space to hold the software I wanted. I had to rely on Photoshop express on my phone as well as Snapseed - a phone app for editing photos. I adjusted the colour temperature and few other minor adjustments in Photoshop express. Then once that was done, I moved on to Snapseed and removed some unwanted spots and power outlets on the wall with the healing option. From there, used a radial blur around the edges to bring her more into focus. I still have some work to do in the focus department though. Couldn't quite get her face to be as clear as I wanted it.In my camera bag
Normally in my bag I have my Canon 50D, the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, plus a 50mm lens, light reflectors (warm, cold and natural options), shutter release button, cleaning kit, extra batteries (4 to be exact), battery charger, extra CF card, lens hood and different lens filters. I really need a bigger bag now though. The bag I have it starting to bust at the seams, lol.Feedback
Take your time. As much as you want to get the photo, you need to be patient. Having a tripod is also a must when working with manual settings. This helps with making sure your photos are as sharp as they can be. Using a counter weight on your tripod will help in outdoor situations as well. Stay relaxed. The more chill you are in a boudoir situation like this one, the more relaxed your model is going to be. You want them to exude power, sensual-ness, pride and love for themselves. Not only that, model the pose for them. It's easier for them to get a picture of what you're looking for if you're able to model it for them. You need them to be comfortable in their own skin. If you can get them to do that, you're set.
