Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in my bedroom as natural light is great in there compared to most places in my house.

Time

It was the afternoon before dinner, 3:41pm to be exact - looked at the time stamp. :-) I was just about to do a photo shoot for something else.

Lighting

Natural light. Natural light is the key I think to all my best works. I was near the window, and used the natural light to help brighten up the photo.

Equipment

Funny, I was using a mix of my Sony camera and my Pixel 3a that day. Neither one of them did I use a flash, all natural light. This might have been when I was using my phone.

Inspiration

I'm all about Selfies - always have been. I wanted a sexy photo but without relieving too much. I'm very self-conscious about my body right now, so after doing my make-up, and putting on all the necklaces, it made me feel very pretty and a bad ass. I wanted to capture that mood.

Editing

Yes - even though I took this with my phone, I did not like it in color. Also I have alot of acne - part of the self-conscious body image, so I made sure to smooth out and semi even out my skin tone. I also turned this image to Black and White and upping the brightness, as it was still a bit dark. I messed around with curves ins photo shop.

In my camera bag

My sony camera, 50mm lens, and a 30-80mm lens. Once in a while I'll use my lights, but usually natural light. Then when in a pinch,I use my phone and post-process it.
