Location
This shot was taken in my studio in Rijswijk, The Netherlands, where I met with Kami. It's basically an unused office floor with all the charm thereof.Time
We met in my studio on a November evening.Lighting
We played with a lot of different light setups that night, but the setup for this shot was quiet simple; a single gritted studio light camera-right, behind the model. She posed in front of a black background.Equipment
For this shot, I relied on a Nikon D800 with a Nikkor 85 mm. The studio flash was controlled by a radio-trigger.Inspiration
This setup creates a dreamy, sad look. I think it really looks great on Kami.Editing
The studio flash was not gelled, I shifted the colours in post. Otherwise some minor corrections for exposure, contrast and skin.In my camera bag
The gear I use really depends on the shoot. However, I love to use my Nikon D800 with a 85 mm Nikkor. I also pack various triggers, spare batteries, model releases.Feedback
It's an easy setup, but make sure exposure is right and check for lens flare (the flash should not directly reach your lens). Be patient with your model, have fun!
