Location
We were at the home of Make-up artist Nesserine Hdr. The goal was to highlight the MUA and hair skills of Ness along with the skills of dress designer Karissa BesharahTime
It was mid-day but it was rainy and overcast so the light was terribleLighting
Given the rain and flat lighting conditions I decided to create my own light. I put a clear place bag over my Alien Bee 1600 and placed outside with a radio trigger. The goal was to simulate a bright sunny day and take advantage of the texture in the curtains.Equipment
Camera: NIKON D600 Aperture: f/8 ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/60 zoom 24-120Inspiration
This was one of my many collaborations with fellow artists. This one was organized by Make-up artist Nesserine Hdr. She recruited dress designer Karissa Besharah and the lovely Sarah Forgie of Angie's model and talent agency.Editing
This was slightly adjusted in Lightroom to boost contrast and control shadow detailIn my camera bag
2 cameras, 3 flashes, several triggers 2 zooms 24-120 & 70-200Feedback
never limit yourself or get discouraged by the location, lighting or other constraints. You're there, so make the best of it. When I have a project or am on a trip the reality is I rarely have the opportunity to go back. So in addition to photo creativity, problem solving skills are essential.
