Congratulations on winning my "Show me the color purple" photo challenge! This was a hard choice because I had lots of favorites, but I have such a fondness for lavender, and this is so beautiful!! Well deserved!! Thank you for entering my challenge!!

Location
This photo was taken at the Lavender Fields farm in Utah, USA.Time
Sunset was setting it must have been around 8:30 pm because this was in the summer.Lighting
I set up my shot at least 45 minutes before and waited until the sun's light just dusted the tops of the lavender bushes. I only had about 5 minutes to capture that horizontal light.I did change the white balance to a cooler color. Originally the image was coming out too brown and by adjusting the white balance I was able to get the blue back into the purple tones of the lavender.Equipment
Nikon D800 Nikon 24-70 Lens I used a tri-pod but no flash or other lighting equipmentInspiration
I love finding patterns in nature and have driven by this farm a few times and loved it! It was far from my home so I promised myself that the next time I planned to be in the area I would bring my camera and wait for a sunset.Editing
Yes, I increased the contrast and added some magenta tones into the lighting. I also bumped the exposure. In my camera bag
Nikon D-800, 85 Prime, 50 Prime, Tripod, Reflector, extra batteries, spare sd cards, and a lens cleaner.Feedback
Set up your shot way before you need it. Find your favorite angle with trial and error first and 10 minutes before the actual shot observe the lighting. I used f-20 to achieve this sun burst. I didn't want the sunburst to have sharp points because I wanted the warmth of a hazy sunburst. I also shot several exposures to make sure that I had the right exposure in the sky and the ground. Have fun, enjoy being there. I was in heaven during this photo shoot.
