Location
During a photography workshop at a falconer, I took the opportunity to make this photo. The bird flew and just ran loose but jumped closer and came so well in front of me.Time
The photo is made in the middle of the day.Lighting
It was a cloudy day, sow you don't have hard shadows or something. Normally on a sunny day the light it awful on that time of the day.Equipment
I use a Canon EOS 50D with the 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens.Inspiration
I like birds of prey a lot, I see them flying and many photographers take photos of them. During this day I tried to make portraits of them where with many details/sharpness in the photo.Editing
I didn't edit a lot on this photo, just crop it a little and give it more contrast and change something in the light and colors. This is what I normally do with my photos, not to much.In my camera bag
Normally I have 2 body's with my favorite lenses with me. That is the macro lens I used for this photo and my EF-S17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM.Feedback
When you don't have the time and patience to make photos of birds of prey in the wild, try a falconer. It is a great opportunity to practice photographing these birds.
