Taken on Ross Island of Antarctica looking towards what is known as Hut Point a peninsula of Ross Island. The mountains barely visible in the far back are part of the continent Antarctica. The ocean has started to freeze over with small areas of open water during the taking of this image. The weather was turning for the worse. The winds howled around 25mph gusts to 50mph temps around -15F ambient during this 80 second exposure, while I held a downward pressure on the tripod to assist it staying still. The sun was starting to set and fog rolling off the ocean as it tried to make ice. The conditions were harsh but the scene and activity of fog, blowing snow etc. made for beauty in the harshness.
I hope you enjoy the image.
