Thank you! Yes it's a bit challenging with the drone's camera (Yuneec CGO3) as it's a bit different quality than my DSLR.... :)

Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was taken by the fell Ylläs in Kolari, Finnish Lapland.

Time

It was late afternoon and the sun was starting to set. After doing some skiing in the slopes I still wanted to test my drone in winter conditions while there was some daylight left.

Lighting

The setting sun created nice long shadows and illuminated the snowy treetops with shades of yellow and orange.

Equipment

I flew my quadcopter Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K

Inspiration

Been seeing these shots of the roads straight from above and wanted to get a straight line dividing the winter wonderland scenery

Editing

I took this as a raw photo and did "the usual" optimisation to get the most out of the quadcopter photo - which isn't quite the same quality as my dslr would deliver. Also needed some angle correction in order to have the road centered and straight.

In my camera bag

In addition to my quadcopter, I normally shoot with Canon 6D and various lenses (Samyang 14 mm, Sigma 20 mm, Canon EF100-400 etc...). I also do a lot of timelapses for which I carry Syrp Genie, Genie Mini and Magic Carpet short track.

Feedback

When wanting to capture to a road like this, the best advice is to take many shots so that you can start your post-processing with the best one. And as an extra note - if flying in the winter and as cold as this (I think it was -20 C) you better make sure you land before the battery runs out!
