Thank you so much!! It was one of those sunsets that made me run out of the restaurant that my family and I were having dinner and jog to my car in sandals to get my tripod out of the car before I missed it!

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo right in front of The Old Captiva House Restaurant in Captiva, Florida.

Time

This was taken right at sunset in July.

Lighting

The sky did all the work for me!

Equipment

I use a Canon T2i and a tripod.

Inspiration

I was right in the middle of eating dinner at The Old Captiva House Restaurant with my family (best lamb chops I've ever had) and when I glanced out of the window I saw this sunset! Being a photographer I let my family know I would be right back and I ran to the car (as fast as I could in 4"heels) and got my camera and tripod and ran across the street to set up right behind the beach so that I could get the Palm Trees in the shot. I knew as soon as I took a few pictures that the lighting was perfect!

Editing

I upload all of my pictures into lightroom and usually just fidget with the brightness and a bit of contrast - I never do very much to my pictures, I feel like it takes away from what it really looked like to me.

In my camera bag

I use a Canon T2i and a Tamron 18-270 (my favorite lens).

Feedback

Just always be ready to take a picture, don't let opportunities pass you by - If you know in your gut that its going to be a good picture act on it.
