Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Bull Island, SC. It is a barrier island reached by ferry or boat. Bull island is located in the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge.

Time

We arrived at about 4:15am at the ferry. The ferry ride was about 30 minutes in pitch darkness, not a moon lit night.

Lighting

This trip was an outing with the Myrtle Beach Camera Club and we wanted to get the sunrise on Bull Island.

Equipment

Nikon D 80 tripod. I don’t remember the lens size.

Inspiration

After the long trip I wanted to be sure I got a good shot. I also wanted to do better than the other members of the club. ????

Editing

All I remember is just doing a little sharpening of the picture.

In my camera bag

And that time I carried a bag that was overfill two cameras several lenses a flash and a tripod, extra batteries and assortment of other junk .

Feedback

When shooting a sunrise I learned that it moves more quickly than you think. My vice would be to set your tripod up early before the sun starts to rise, unless you are trying a handheld shoot.
