Location
This photo was taken in a man-made cave in Minnesota. It is a self portrait, and I am standing on about 50 feet of backfill that was bulldozed into the cave in the late 20th century.Time
This was taken underground, so time of day didn't matter, but I believe it was around 6 P.M.Lighting
The lighting used was a single battery-powered flood light on top of rocks so that it hit my chest just right.Equipment
This was taken with a Sony A65, on a Tamron 16-35mm lens, with a tripod and a single battery powered flood light.Inspiration
My inspiration was from similar photographs, but not many had been done in a cave!Editing
A little touching up in lightroom of the lighting and clarity. In my camera bag
My bag has changed since this photo was taken. I now carry a GoPro Hero 4, Sony A7 with a Zeiss 16-35 mm lens, and a Super Takumar 55 mm f 1.8 from 1967. I also carry a tripod, remote, polarizer, Ten stop ND filter, a UV filter, multiple lights, extra batteries, and extra memory cards.Feedback
Make sure your light is a flood light, not just a beam, and is also bright. Also make sure that the light is about level with the subject's chest.
