Location
This photo was taken at the outside exhibit at the Photokina Expo in Cologne Germany.Time
It was taken late afternoon close to the Expo closing for the day when I got out there because I lost time inside strolling around and checking out all the latest Photography things.Lighting
At first I was disappointed because the typical German weather it was rainy and gloomy that day in late September. Being late in the day the lighting was horrible and it started to rain again. Since I did not want to disturb the animal I opted out of using a flash trying to work with the little bit of lighting there was.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS T3 with a 75-300 Canon lens (I think) and a polarizing filter , no flash and no tripod because carrying it all around all day at the Expo would have been to heavy for me. I wish I would have had my tripod though because standing there in the rain waiting for the right moment in between clouds moving this little camera can get heavy!Inspiration
I wanted to take it because I found it fascinating how this little owls blended in with the tree and was so content just sitting there not bothered by the thousands of people stopping and staring and taking pictures.Editing
I believe that the only thing I did was to lighten the picture by once shade because I found in to be dark.In my camera bag
Now I usually carry my EOS T5 with a 18-200 mm lens, a 18-55mm lens, a 75-300 mm lens, 4 batteries, chargers, car chargers, filter (star and polarizing) a Canon Speedlite 320EX flash, cleaning kit and my Canon Powershot as a backup just in case. Funny thing is that I started carrying a rain cover ever since that pictures was taken because of the raining that day.Feedback
Patience. That is all. Especially in a setting where many people want to take pictures. I am also careful with using the flash when taking pictures of certain animals.
