Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo during my last trip in Val D'Orcia, Tuscany. Along the road that leads to San Quirico D'Orcia, La Cassia. I stopped my car at a rest stop, then walk I approached the subject, in Val D'Orcia this group of cypress blocks are called Triboli

Time

As can be seen from the light, it was early afternoon.

Lighting

The light during these hours is very hard, luckily I had the sun behind him. Underexpose the sky I could catch the sunlight that filtered through the clouds to try to make the most complete photographic composition.

Equipment

The equipment I used for this shot freehand is my Nikon D3200 and the Tokina 11-16mm.

Inspiration

The Triboli are very characteristic of the Val D'Orcia, is basically a classic photo. Usually, however, are photographed in close-up, I tried to make it more dynamic and original composition by including the winding road beside them

Editing

With Photoshop I made a small crop, I adjust the shadows that were a bit 'obvious on Triboli, clarity, vividness and saturation especially for the sky. I also presented with the layer mask the contrast of the sky to make it sharper and with the level curves have given more impact to the ground

In my camera bag

My kit usually includes: the Nikon D3200, Tokina 11-16mm, Nikkor 50mm f / 1.4 G, nikkor 105mm f / 2.8, ND filters, a tripod (Manfrotto 055XPROB with Junior Geared Head), lens cleaning kit, a torch, multipurpose kit, a remote control, Plamp,spare batteries, spare memory card

Feedback

The Tuscan hills, especially in this area (Val D'Orcia and Siena) are wonderful at any time of the day, I invite you all to visit them because every sunrise, every sunset is always different, you always inspires strong emotions of peace and relaxation . To make it even more exciting than a simple tree and or group of trees you have to look at what we have around. Everything can be useful, in my case the dirt road, small waves visible to the right of it, and the sky so they made a special photo trivial to me more exciting.
